Gemotions

The ocean wind whipped at Clara’s face, carrying the scent of salt and seaweed. She stood on the cliff edge, clutching the bucket list in her hand. Her grandmother’s handwriting, faded and elegant, seemed to shimmer in the sunlight. *Learn to surf.* The thought sent a jolt of anxiety through her. The crashing waves seemed to taunt her.

She paced back and forth, the rhythmic sound of the waves filling her ears, a constant reminder of the ocean's power. She rubbed her arms, suddenly feeling cold, despite the warm sun. *Adopt a dog.* She couldn't do this. All these dreams, all these hopes, were suddenly suffocating. Her legs shook, and she had to sit down.
